Case Study

Food Cart Wrapping Design

When Mr. Singh approached us at NYC Car Wraps to bring his dream of “Mr. Singh Street Bites” to life, we knew this project required a perfect balance of design, branding, and functionality.

Mr. Singh is deeply passionate about his food cart business, working tirelessly alongside his wife to serve the best Indian halal bites in NYC. He wanted a unique yet simple design that would immediately tell his story and showcase his delicious food to anyone passing by. To bring his vision to life, we incorporated a full food cart wrap with vinyl wrapping that highlighted his brand’s identity. We worked closely with him to ensure the design and installation were flawless, making his cart the talk of the town.

The Process Of Food Cart Wrap Design

Step 1

Understanding the Vision

To kick off the project, we had an in-depth discussion with Mr. Singh to understand his style preferences and the colors he wanted to see in the design. We also explored whether he wanted a full cart wrap or a partial wrap. Ultimately, Mr. Singh decided on a full cart wrap, covering all the sides and top boards with vinyl for a cohesive and impactful look.

Step 2

Designing the NYC Template

Next, Mr. Singh brought his cart to our shop in Long Island City, located at 4700 Northern Boulevard. We took detailed measurements and photographs of the cart to create an accurate template using Adobe Illustrator. This template formed the foundation for designing every element of the cart with precision.

Step 3

Crafting the Four-Sided Design

Mr. Singh envisioned an all-black vinyl wrap with specific design elements:
Front Side: Featured the “Mr. Singh Street Bites” logo prominently, along with the full menu. Payment method logos such as Apple Pay, Google Wallet, Visa, and Mastercard were also included. Sides: Showcased high-resolution pictures of dishes like chicken masala, lamb masala, and falafel masala. Social media handles (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and TikTok) were strategically placed to encourage online engagement.
Back Side: Highlighted the logo and logos of delivery partners such as DoorDash, UberEATS, and GrubHub. Additional branding included high signs for products like Lay’s, Doritos, and Cheetos, emphasizing the variety of items sold at the cart.

Step 4

Designing the Top Signboards

For the top signboards, we used black backgrounds for a sleek and modern look. The front and back boards displayed the “Mr. Singh Street Bites” logo, while the side boards prominently featured logos of delivery partners and payment methods. This ensured clear visibility of key information from all angles.

Step 5

Menu Design

The menu included all the Indian flavors Mr. Singh wanted to highlight, including crowd favorites like:

Chicken Rice Masala
Lamb Masala
Falafel Masala
A selection of vegetarian and vegan options

The menu design was vibrant, visually appealing, and easy to read, showcasing the textures and colors of Indian cuisine.
Mr. Singh also introduced a unique “Bring Your Bag of Chips” reward. Customers can bring their own bag of chips, and he tops it with chicken, lamb, lettuce, salad, tomato, sauces, and a variety of flavorful masalas. This creative offering has become a popular choice among his customers.

Step 6

Wrap Installation

Our team meticulously installed the vinyl wraps and signboards on the cart, ensuring flawless execution. The final product was a seamless integration of design elements, wrap graphics, and functionality. The high-quality vinyl wraps provided durability and a professional finish, ready to withstand the bustling NYC streets.
